Rhett

Rhett

Rhett was born with Down syndrome and a heart defect, requiring intensive care and open-heart surgery at just 6 months old. Thanks to generous donors, he continued treatment at the Down Syndrome Clinic — a vital support for his family. At 4, Rhett was diagnosed with leukemia, but with personalized treatment shaped by groundbreaking research, dedicated care teams and therapies that brought him joy, he persevered. Today, Rhett is strong and vibrant, thriving in school, making his classmates laugh, and sharing his tender heart with everyone he meets.

Zaylyn

Zaylyn

Six-year-old Zaylyn struggled with stomach aches, restlessness and fear as his anxiety became unmanageable. His mom, Dominique, turned to the Craig Yabuki Mental Health Walk-In Clinic at Children’s Wisconsin, where a therapist helped him express his emotions through art therapy and develop coping tools. Thanks to donors like you, the clinic was there when they needed it most. “I remember leaving there feeling like a weight had been lifted off both of us,” Dominique shared. Today, Zaylyn is a confident second grader, using his skills to manage anxiety and thrive.

Eric and Derrick

Eric and Derrick

After nearly being caught in the crossfire of gun violence, brothers Eric and Derrick found hope through Project Ujima at Children’s Wisconsin. Their mom turned to the program for healing, and thanks to donors like you, it was there. Sixteen-year-old Eric became more responsible and engaged in school, even returning as a volunteer, while 6-year-old Derrick found healing and confidence. This program changes lives, breaking the cycle of violence and improving medical outcomes. Your generosity makes it possible — creating lasting impact for children and families when they need it most.

Weston

Weston

When Sam and Byron learned their baby had a severe congenital heart defect, they turned to Children’s Wisconsin’s Fetal Concerns Center — and found hope. Their son, Weston, was born at 37 weeks and taken to the NICU, undergoing his first open-heart surgery at just 5 days old. His journey was one of resilience, groundbreaking medicine and compassionate care. “They supported us as a family and were always honest, even when it was hard,” Sam shared. After months of fighting, Weston’s tiny heart could fight no more, but he spent his final days surrounded by love and the care team that had become like family. Sam feels one of the lessons Weston taught them was that there is always light. Last June, the family welcomed a baby girl – a constant reminder of the light Weston brings them.
